Iron Rebellion’s New Update: Abilities, Augments, and a Tactical Overhaul

Iron Rebellion just rolled out its latest update (v0.9896), and it’s a massive shift in how battles will unfold. Each mech now comes with its own unique ability, solidifying its role on the battlefield. Whether you're slipping behind enemy lines with the Infiltrator’s cloak or calling in an airstrike with the Breaker medium mech, these new abilities bring a fresh level of strategy and intensity to the game.

But it doesn’t stop there. A brand-new augment system lets you equip up to three upgrades per mech, allowing players to customize their playstyle even further. With 16 augments to choose from, you can tweak your mech’s performance to match any combat scenario.

The update also introduces six community-created maps, along with updates to existing ones like Bulletheim and Redlands. Health and ammo placements were reworked to keep you on your toes, and the flight mechanics for light mechs have been enhanced to give you more airtime—perfect for pulling off those clutch maneuvers.

With updated weapons, smoother cockpit controls, and a new scoring system that rewards smart gameplay, this update is live now. Jump in, squad up, and see how these changes shape your next battle in Iron Rebellion!

Iron Rebellion is currently available on STEAM and METAVR for $14.99!
