Next Fest Day One: Must-Try Isometric Games

Next Fest has kicked off on STEAM, and we’ve already found three standout isometric games that deserve your attention. Here’s a quick rundown.

Wind Blown: Co-op Roguelike Action RPG

Wind Blown, from the creators of Dead Cells, is a roguelike action RPG focusing on co-op gameplay. While the demo lacks multiplayer, it showcases tight combat, fast-paced platforming, and a variety of weapons and abilities. Players choose from five cosmetic-only characters, and the game is set to enter Early Access soon. If you love hack-and-slash games, this one’s bound to hook you and your friends.

Wild Woods: Adorable Yet Hectic Co-op Adventure

In Wild Woods, you and up to three friends play as kittens escorting a wagon, gathering wood, flowers, and gold to survive the night. The simple gameplay loop gets chaotic, with branching paths and boss fights adding challenge. The game is accessible for all ages, and its charming co-op mechanics will keep you entertained whether you're with fellow gamers or family members. My 6-year-old daughter and I have already finished the demo multiple times!

Luma Island: Charming Adventure with Crafting and Mining

Luma’s Island blends adventure, mining, and crafting, letting you explore a whimsical world solo or with friends. Start with a simple caravan and work towards building a majestic manor, completing quests and solving puzzles. With seven unique professions and a focus on collaborative crafting, this game offers a laid-back yet rewarding experience reminiscent of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.

That’s it for our Day One roundup! Tomorrow, we dive into horror-themed games just in time for October.
